In case you are married and you would like to apply for the marriage registration certificate, you can do it under two acts which are Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 and Special Marriage Act, 1954. Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 means both the husband and wife belong to Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs or Jains or have converted into any of these religions. On the other hand, for Special Marriage Act, 1954, the husband or wife or both the persons are not belonging to the above communities mentioned.

  • First of all, you have to visit the official website of E-district Delhi.
  • Once the home page of the website open, you have to first register yourself if you have not already registered.
  • Click on the “New user” option available under the citizen’s corner.
  • After this, you are asked to choose either of the document “Aadhar card” or “Voter ID card
  • Now, fill in the number and solve the captcha code thereby by reading and ticking the checkbox
  • In the next step, click on the “Continue” button.
  • Once you have successfully registered on the marriage certificate delhi portal, you can login to the portal.
  • For this, you need to click on “Registered user login” option
  • click on the option “Apply for services” and then select “Registration of marriage”

  • From there you need to navigate to “Home and Community” section
  • After this, a new page will open infront of you where you have to click on “Marriage Certificate and Registration”.
  • Now, click Application Form for registration of marriage under Hindu Marriage Act or “Click here for Application Form for registration of marriage under Special Marriage Act.”
  • You have to download the application according to your preference and then fill all the details.
  • Once you have filled the form, then take the application with all the mentioned documents to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate office.
  • After you submit the application there, it will be verified and a date fixed to the parties for registration in case of the Hindu Marriage act or in case of the Special Marriage Act both parties are needed to be available after submission of documents for issuance of public notice inviting objections. If there is no objection then registration will be done after 30 days.
