Eligibility Criteria

Pre-matric Scholarship
- The candidate must be a permanent resident of West Bengal state
- Annual income of the applicant’s family must be below Rs.2 lakh.
- The students who are studying in a School/ Institution acknowledged by an educational Board/ Council/ University of the State/ Central Government are eligible.
- The student must have acquired not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final exams.
- Students who are studying at educational institutes outside West Bengal are not eligible for this scheme
Post-matric Scholarship
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal state
- The applicant must be studying in a School/ Institution authorized by an educational Board/ Council/ University of the State/ Central Government.
- Students must have acquired at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation examination.
- Annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs.2.5 lakh.
- Students who are studying at educational institutes outside West Bengal are not eligible for this scheme.
Merit Cum- Means Scholarships
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal state
- The applicant must have got admission in a technical/professional course.
- Annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs.2.5 lakh.
- The applicant must have acquired at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation examination.
- Students who are studying at educational institutes outside West Bengal are not eligible for this scheme.
Talent Support stipend
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal state
- The candidate must have got admission in a professional/technical course.
- Annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs.2.5 lakh.
- The applicant must have acquired at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation examination.
- Students who are studying at educational institutes outside West Bengal are not eligible for this scheme.
Swami Vivekananda merit cum means scholarship
- The candidate must be in Class – XI and XII
- If not then he/she must be in the Graduate level in Engineering, Medical and Technical / Professional courses besides Under Graduate, Post Graduate level students pursuing General Degree courses.
- The students whose family income is above Rs.2,50,000/- per annum are not eligible for this scheme.
- Students who are doing M.Phil courses and Doctoral courses in the State-aided Institutions are eligible.
- The scholarships will be pemitted to deserving candidate on merit-cum-means criteria.

- The Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship is only for girl students in the state.
